Sweet Slumber Dear Clara
Your Work Is Now Done.

Clara was my Fire Cracker Girl !  Born on July 4th !
Clara arrived at BWI airport and immediately popped out
of her crate wagging her tail, here I am whats happening?
She was a delight, an alpha bitch from the beginning.
She was stable, loving, outgoing and great protection.
Took no nonsense from any one. She loved to hunt and
was an expert at her sport. Rabbits, birds, squirrels,
possum and anything else that moved or challenged her.

Next to hunting her favorite thing was riding
in the car and going for 3 mile walks every day.
She was in excellent shape, solid muscle.
Clara could multi-task like no other chow
I have ever seen.
When my God daughter Kelly lost her chow Rosy
and they had no chow in the home Clara went to live with Kelly.
They visited every week end from Va and the dogs had a great
time playing, however when it was time for them to go home
Clara made it crystal clear that she was leaving with Kelly.

When Kelly went to college, Clara would make the trip to visit
when ever her parents visited.  When Mike and Sarah would
come to visit us Clara was always happy to visit with all
the dogs and play for the week end.  Clara was very close to
Kris and Pepper and they were great friends.
When Kris passed in July of 2005  we were afraid I would
loose Pepper  as they were like Mother and son. Pepper had
arthritis and would have occasions
of stiffness and trouble getting around.
Sarah and I discussed it and since Kelly was still away
at college we decided that Clara would move back to Pa.
to watch over Pepper and be her nurse.  Clara was so
pleased to see Pepper and being her stable self moved
right in without any problem.  Clara gently played with
Pepper and they hunted and layed in the sun having a
grand time. They were inseperatable. Clara watched
over Pepper like her guardian angel.
When Pepper passed in  May of 2006
Clara was so upset. I took her every
where with me as she loved riding in the car.
Kissy moved back home and she and Clara were friends
and Kissy was company for Clara,
but never the closeness she and Pepper shared.
In March 2007 Sage our smooth boy arrived.
Clara was delighted !  A new youngster to train !!
     Such fun !
Clara became "Aunt Clara" She displined him and trained
him to have good manners; trained him to come when called,
to ride in the car, walk on a leash and to be protective of his home.
Most of all Clara taught Sage to hunt !! They spent many hours
in the back hunting and having a fantastic time. Clara was his
mentor and ruled him with great dispcipline when necessary
and softness when she judged it was best.
On June 27, 2008 Clara developed respirtory distress and
didn't eat her dinner. This was so unusal for her since she
never missed a meal in her life. I took her to the hospital
and she was started on an IV and medications.  She did
not respond to her treatments and when the blood test came
back it showed Clara had cancer.
Clara passed on June 30th.  We were very devistated.
Clara didn't make it to her 10th Birthday.

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog
they take a piece of my heart with them.

And every new dog who comes into my life,
gifts me with a piece of their heart.
If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog,
and I will become as generous and loving as they are."
