Kissy was my
first black smooth. She was quiet and gentle.
A lady at all times
but full of fun, and lots of energy. She got along well
with all the other
dogs and fit right into the pack. We tried the conformation
ring for
a while but never really liked the ring.
Kissy went back
to the breeder to be bred and she produced some great
puppies over several
years. Kissy then came back to live with me and retire
her breeding career.
Kissy
was a healthy girl and was never sick a day in her life. She
enjoyed laying
in the sun in the
back yard and Mothering the younger chows , washing
their faces and
cleaning their ears. She was a true Mother .
I
was so please in November when she turned 14 years old. I expected
she
would live forever.
We would say "Swartzmoody " will out live all of us.
On the morning of November 5th she got up could hardly
walk. Her front
legs went one way and her rear legs went the other. I
knew she had had a
stroke during the night. I carried her out to the back
yard and she was able
to go to the bathroom and seemed to enjoy laying in
the sun. She was able
to come back in even though she was wobbly. Next day I carried
her out to
be in the sun and she so enjoyed laying in the
yard.
Kissy became incontinent and I knew she was getting
worse. I did not
want her to suffer and knew what I had to do. Monday
morning we said
our goodbyes and I took her in and stayed with her
while the vet did what
had to be done. I had Kissy Creamated to sit on the
fireplace mantle
with all my other chows that have passed on.
Bless you sweet girl you never did anything wrong. I
will miss you.
